Introducing SRAM Type 2 Rear Derailleur with Cage Lock

Could this be SRAM’s answer to Shimano’s Shadow Plus rear derailleurs? SRAM will be introducing a new generation of rear derailleurs to the X9 and XO family in July 2012. With the soon to be release new Roller Bearing Clutch Technology, SRAM Type 2 eliminates derailleur bounce and chain slap without sacrificing performance.  The cage lock feature will lock the derailleur cage forward for easy wheel removal. The clutch will add approximately 30 grams to a standard medium cage derailleur.
